Day 1 - Mother’s DAY MINI’s

I absolutely love Mother’s Day Mini Sessions. Every year, they become a beautiful mix of chaos, cuddles, laughter, and those fleeting little moments that mums are usually the ones behind the camera for. And it’s so, so nice to have Mum’s be celebrated!

Day One this year was exactly that.

Three families, three very different energies, and a whole lot of love.

FAMILY 1: The little escape artist

This session came with a very determined 3-year-old who had absolutely no intention of staying in one place.

Every time we’d get him settled with his mum and grandma - two generations of love wrapped around him - he’d spot something far too interesting in the distance and take off at full speed.

We had joyful negotiations, laughter echoing across the field, and a few “quick grab him” moments (the real behind-the-scenes of family photography that no one sees in the final gallery!).

But honestly, it was perfect.

Because in between the running, there were the sweetest pauses - tiny hand squeezes from grandma, cuddles with mum, kisses from his big sis and those brief little moments where he slowed down just long enough to be held and adored.

It was chaotic, funny, and full of life… exactly how a 3-year-old with two generations of love should be.

Family 2: Calm, connection, and in-between moments

This gorgeous family had a completely different rhythm. Their children were a little older, a little more reserved at first, but so beautifully connected to their mum.

There was a quiet confidence in the way they interacted - lots of cuddles, and nose kisses! And siblings that actually didn’t mind being next to each other! Such a bonus! haha.

Family 3: The beautifully wild one

Now this family brought the energy.

And I mean energy.

Their three kids arrived ready to explore every blade of grass, run and every possible escape route in the entire area. But there were a LOT of laughs.

There were tiny negotiations, snack bribes whispered from behind mum’s shoulder, and a lot of “just one more photo!” moments.

But honestly? That’s where the magic was.

Between the wild running and the giggles, we captured those real, unfiltered snapshots of family life - the kind you’ll look back on and remember exactly how it felt at this stage.
